Core Values

Worship

Worship is the intentional choice to acknowledge, honor, and submit to God with our thoughts, words, and deeds.

We are created to be worshipers. Worship can be an individual act, expressed thru things like Bible study, prayer, meeting others’ needs, or any number of everyday actions that we choose to use to glorify God and point others toward him. It’s also a corporate act, when the individual members of the church gather together as one body every Sunday to celebrate God’s work in our lives and to encourage each other to live on mission.

(Acts 2:46)

Prayer

A daily and personal conversation with God which shapes and changes us to be dependent on him.

Prayer is vital in the life of a follower of God, it’s our personal conversation with him. We pray so we may know God and become obedient to his plan for our life.

(Eph 6:18, Phil 4:6)

Community

Building authentic Christian relationships while growing closer to God.

No one should do life alone and we are designed for relationships. We want everyone to be a part of a community where everyone is welcome, no one is perfect, and Jesus is discovered.

(Hebrews 10:25, Acts 2:42, Acts 5:42, Matt 18:20)

Generosity

People who give of money, talent and time, whatever God would ask of us.

Generosity impacts the world. We feel the way we can do this is by giving of our money, our talent and our time in the church and the community to show others the love of Jesus.

(2 Cor 9:11, Romans 12:1, Matthew 23:11, I Peter 4:10, 2 Cor 9:7)

Discipleship

Followers of Jesus helping others connect to God, the church and their mission.

Discipleship is not just something we do but its who we are. Discipleship is not only more head knowledge about scripture, but a better understanding of the next step to take in following Jesus.  The church is on mission when we are helping all people find and follow Jesus.

(Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:7-8)

Scripture

When we open the Bible, God opens his mouth to teach, inspire and transform us.

We strive to teach the timeless truth of scripture to a constantly changing culture. Scripture is the inspired word of God, written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Scripture is our standard as followers of God in all we believe, say and do. We want all people to read, meditate, and be transformed by it.

(II Timothy 3:16;  II Peter 1:20,21;  II Timothy 1:13;  Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5)
